Biology Post Pg 746 #1-5 Catch up Work

#1.) Describe the pathway taken by the blood as it circulates through an Arthropods body.
A: Arthropod blood is pumped by a heart in an open circulatory system with vessels that carry blood away from the heart. The blood flows out of the vessels, bathes the tissues of the body and returns to the heart through open body spaces.
#2.) Describe 2 features that are common to arthropods.
A: A typical arthropod is a segmented, coelomate invertibrate with bilateral symmetry an exoskeleton and jointed appendages.
#3.) What are the advantages and disadvantages to an exoskeleton?
A: Exoskeleton protects the body. Made of Chitin and Protein it supports internal structures and attaches to muscles. However, the exoskeleton is quite heavy. The weight of the exoskeleton limits the size of the arthropods. Exoskeletons cannot grow and must be shed. During molting arthropods are generally vulnerable with thier soft exoskeleton.
#4.)How are compound eyes an adaption to the way of life of some arthropods?
A: A compound eye is a visual structure with many lenses made of thousands of parts enableing flying arthropods to analize fast changing landscapes during flight detecting predators and prey.
#5.) What characteristics of arthropods might explain why they are the most succesfull animals in terms of population sizes and numbers if species?
A: Reproductive diversity, well developed nervous systems, complex body systems, exoskeleton, acute senses and efficient gas exchange.

I hope it was okay that I did my missing assignment as a blog, It was just easier for me to get it done this way.

Pg 28 Religion

Would it be better if God were to remove all possibility of doubt?
My answer, yes of course. I mean, we would still have our problems as humans becuase we live in a sinfull world but if people werent able to doubt thier wasnt a God i think it would make things alot easier. No debates no religous struggles none of that, so yes it would be better. BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, God wants to give us freedom, the freedom to make thier own choices of what they want to believe! God doesnt want to force us to beleive in Him because thats just the way He made us, He wants us to choose Him because we WANT to. And I think thats super admirable and awesome because I love my freedom as a person and I have to thank God for giving us the right to choose.

I hope this is right, its just my personal opinion. :)

Religion Pg 36 #2

Have I been mistreated lately? I wouldnt say mistreated, or abused but yes thier have been times in my life when people have been quite less than nice or respectfull to me. Actually it's when people look down on me and take control of my life is when I feel the most angry and discouraged. But I know that Jesus had to deal with 10000000000000X's worse than what I have to deal with so I better just suck it up. How might Jeses' examples and principles of behavior apply to me in my responses? I know that it is extrememly extremely difficult for me to react the way Jesus would, because he was so kind and didnt get mad in thier faces even when people acted thier worst in front of people I know I wouldnt be able to do that. When I get angry or flustlered it is hard to remember to respond the way Jesus did and wants us too because you just get so caught up in yourself and upset. Most of the time I manage to keep my temper because I know If I dont i'll feel guilty later so I better not do that...So I try and just take it all in stride and try to improve myself even if that means keeping all my anger inside.

Hope its okay i did this assignment as a blog post.

Phase 2 Religion Postzzz

How does understanding what God has done for me in Christ affect my moral character?
Sometimes I forget all the things God has done for me, and when I think about them He really has done
alot for us. Sending His only Son to earth to die for every one of our sins and then have Him rise up again and
heal and forgive everyone. God watches over us and guides us, and even though we mess up and look away from Him sometimes He still loves us and is there. When I think of this it makes me feel ashamed that I have forgotten what an awesome God we have, it makes me feel like I should do things that Jesus would do and be closer to others like He was. How do the principals of God's word guide my moral behavior? I am guessing this question means the 10 commandments, I am not going to lie I break those commandments alot and I feel like I should follow how God wants us to behave but it is really hard. Sometimes I work really hard in wanting to behave how God wants me too but then when I forget or get angry or mess up or something... I just dont care anymore and I do whatever I want. I know it shouldnt be this way but its the truth, I have to work hard in order to be close to God and not stray from the person He wants me to be.

-Hope this answers the questions.

Religion Post

How am I going to spend time with God and who will be accountable If I dont.
First of all since at this moment I am not In a bible study or religion group of any kind,
nobody else but myself would be accountable of me not spending time with God.
I have a bad habit of trying to spend time with God (talking, praying) for a while, but
then If I feel like i've messed up or something then I'll just forget about it for a long time
and convince myself that it doesnt really make a difference whatsoever. I should probebly
stop thinking this way because it really gets in the way of my personal time with God.
So I just need to make sure that I have enough time, even If at the beginning it's only 5 min
a day to talk to God or even just think about my day and Him. And if it happens that I forget
or I dont have the time then I just have to move on and try again the next day.

Biology "Mystery Bag" Lab :D

Olivia and I were given a paper bag filled with a mystery object, the first step in our observation was to take five min each to feel what the object is and record what it feels like.

Step 1:

Observation:

-Light
-Papery
-Round
-Small
-Thin Layers
-A Bit Grainy
-Small hole or dent at the top and bottom.
-Fragile
-Dry

Step 2: Inference

Olivia and I had to try and guess what we thought the object was. Right away I thought it was
some sort of nest. Perhaps a wasps nest...

Step 3: Representation
(Drew the Picture)

Step 4: Inference
Drawing a picture didn't really make it easier to guess what the object was because I had a really good picture in my mind of what it looked like.

Step 5: Collaboration
(Olivia feels the object)

Step 6: Inference

No, it's not easier to guess what the object is, although Olivia and I do agree on what we think the object is.

Step 7: Visual Observation

Olivia and I opened the bag and we were correct, Inside was a small wasps nest. Some characteristics that we couldn't feel were...

-The nest was a grey color.
-The look and detail on the nest
-If the nest smelt or not (it didnt really smell like anything)
-If the nest contained anything inside that we could not reach.

Final: Reflection

Scientific investigation is the techniques of investigation and acquiring and gathering knowledge and information. That is sort of what we were doing in this lab was collaborating with our partners and gathering information in order to make an educated guess on what was inside the mystery bag. Feeling was a big part of this investigation as we could not see what was inside the bag, having two different points of view helped when we discussed what was inside the bag. This could be similar to any scientific investigation in which the individual doesn't know what an object is and has to research it and collaborate in order to find out what it is.
